The Clash fue una banda británica de punk que estuvo activa entre 1976 y 1986. El grupo fue uno de los más importantes e icónicos de la primera ola del punk originada a fines de los años '70 y, a diferencia de la mayoría de las bandas punk que se caracterizaban por su simplicidad musical, incorporó reggae, rock, rockabilly, ska, jazz y dub entre otros variados estilos en su repertorio.

Sumado a esto, The Clash exhibió una intencionalidad política en sus letras que con el tiempo se convertiría en su característica distintiva fundamental. El idealismo expresado en las composiciones de Joe Strummer y Mick Jones contrastó con el nihilismo de los Sex Pistols y la sencillez de Ramones, las otras bandas emblemas del punk en la época. Aunque su éxito en el Reino Unido fue inmediato, la banda no se ganó al público estadounidense hasta los años '80.

En esta ocasión te presentamos en FOH su tercer álbum, 'London Calling', el cual es considerado uno de los mejores discos de la historia de la música. De hecho, la revista Rolling Stone lo calificó como el mejor de los años 1980 y como el octavo mejor de la historia en su lista de los 500 mejores álbumes de todos los tiempos.


The Clash was a British punk band active between 1976 and 1986. The group was one of most important and iconic of the first wave of the punk originated by the end of the years ' 70s and unlike the majority of the punk bands that were characterized by their musical simplicity, they incorporated reggae, rock, rockabilly, ska, jazz and dub among others varied styles in their repertoire.

Added to this, The Clash exhibited a political intentionality in its letters that with time would become their fundamental distinguishing characteristic. The idealism expressed in the compositions of Joe Strummer and Mick Jones resisted with the nihilism of Sex Pistols and the simplicity of The Ramones, other emblematic punk bands of that time. Although its success in the United Kingdom was immediate, the band did not gain the American public until the years ' 80.

In this occasion we presented in FOH their third album, ' London Calling' , which is considered one of best records of the music history. In fact, the Rolling Stone magazine described it as the best recording in 1980 and the eighth best in R&R history in its list of 500 better albums.
